You are welcome to upload your own custom Minecraft: Java Edition server JAR files to run on your server.

Uploading the JAR file using Prisma

  • Log in to the Prisma control panel
  • Using the bar at the top, navigate to “Customize” and then “File Manager”
  • Double click on the “jar” directory to enter it
  • Using the upload form, or by dragging and dropping, upload your custom JAR file
  • Rename the file to custom.jar
  • Follow the instructions under "Changing your server type" below to set your server type to "Custom JAR File"

Uploading the JAR file using FTP

If you do not know your server’s FTP credentials, these can be found from your Prisma control panel by navigating to “Advanced” and then “FTP Access” on the bar at the top.

  • Open your preferred FTP program and log in using your server’s FTP credentials
  • Enter the directory titled “jar”
  • Upload your custom JAR file
  • Rename the file to custom.jar
  • Follow the instructions under "Changing your server type" below to set your server type to "Custom JAR File"

Changing your server type

  • From the Overview tab, click the “Change” button, located beneath the “Server Type” label on the far right-hand side. 
  • A dialog box should appear on the screen
    Under “Server Source” select the “Custom JAR File” option
    Press the “Continue” button at the bottom
  • Take note of the notice that appears, and press the “Install” button at the bottom if you are happy to continue

Your server will automatically stop and the console will inform you of the installation’s progress. The server will automatically start itself once the installation is completed.

Note: Any servers that are found abusing this feature to run programs that are not Minecraft servers will be immediately suspended and/or terminated, as doing so is a violation of our Terms of Service.
