Banned players are unable to join your server until their ban is lifted. A permanent ban results in the player never being able to join the server again, unless the server/files are reset (effectively lifting the ban).

In order to ban a player, you may use the command ban playername (replace playername with the player's Minecraft username).
Likewise, in order to unban a player, you may use the command unban playername or pardon username  (replace playername with the player's Minecraft username).

The pardon command will be used for vanilla Minecraft, whereas unban is more common with Bukkit-based server types, such as Spigot or CraftBukkit.

Commands can be executed by the server owner or any server administrators through the server console (do not use a slash) at any time.
Alternatively, operators may also execute this command (with a slash).
