FileZilla is a commonly used third-party file manager. It allows you to connect to your server’s FTP and easily upload and/or download files as needed. If you have the ability to do so, we recommend using WinSCP.

Downloading the FileZilla Client

If you do not yet have FileZilla downloaded, please visit this link and download the appropriate version for your computer's operating system.
If you are using Windows, be sure to select the checkbox or “Shell Extension” when you reach the “Choose Components” section of your installation process.

Note: Do not select the button for "Download FileZilla Server". This version is meant to be installed on a physical server, not your home computer and, therefore, cannot be used to connect to your Minecraft server from your local PC.

Connecting to your server using FileZilla

Once you have your FileZilla client open and you’re ready to connect to your FTP, follow the steps below:

  1. Locate the “Quick Connect” bar at the top of your client (it begins with “Host:”).
  2. In the “Host” field, enter the Host/IP shown within your Prisma control panel under “ADVANCED” > “FTP ACCESS”.
  3. In the “Username” field, enter the username shown within your Prisma control panel under “ADVANCED” > “FTP ACCESS”.
  4. In the “Password” field, enter your Prisma password.
  5. You may either leave the “Port” field blank or enter the port shown within your Prisma control panel under “ADVANCED” > “FTP ACCESS”.
  6. Select the “Quickconnect” button and wait for FileZilla to successfully connect to your server.

If you have successfully connected to your FTP, your server files will be displayed in the field on the right side of your FileZilla client.

Uploading Files

Upload times may vary based on your upload speeds, connection to the FTP server, file size, etc. Larger files may take several minutes to a few hours to fully upload.

Using the File Manager

The File Manager can be used to upload individual files and/or small folders. Larger folders, or folders containing a large amount of files, should be uploaded as a ZIP and/or via FTP.

  1. Navigate to "Customize" > "File Manager"
  2. Open your local file explorer/directory on your computer
  3. Navigate to the folder you wish to upload the files/folders to, then drag/drop the files into Prisma
  4. Wait for the upload to complete (progress displays in the bottom-left of the File Manager; note that large files/folders may take a longer duration of time)

Requesting our team upload files for you

If you wish to have our team upload for you, you will need to open a conversation (using the blue button in the bottom-right of the website) and share the files with us via a file-sharing service, such as Dropbox or Google Drive. Be sure to make the link accessible to our team otherwise you may experience delays. If you need help with sharing your files, feel free to ask.

To upload files onto the server, you may either drag and drop them from your personal storage side (left) to the server side (right) or you may right-click on a file/folder and select “Upload”.

TIP: Multiple files can be selected at a time by clicking on each folder/file while holding Ctrl (Windows) or command (Mac). You can also select all files easily by selecting the file/folder at the top of the list then selecting the file/folder at the bottom of the list while holding Shift.

Downloading Files

Whenever you need to download folders (such as a world folder) to your server, we recommend that you use FTP.

Download times may vary based on your download speeds, connection to the FTP server, file size, etc. Larger files may take several minutes to a few hours to fully download.

To download files from your server, you may either drag and drop them from the server side (left) to your personal storage (right) or you may right-click on a file/folder and select “Download”.

TIP: Multiple files can be selected at a time by clicking on each folder/file while holding Ctrl (Windows) or command (Mac). You can also select all files easily by selecting the file/folder at the top of the list then selecting the file/folder at the bottom of the list while holding Shift.

Requesting a link from which you may download your files

If you prefer our team prepare your files for you, you will need to open a conversation (using the blue button in the bottom-right of the website) and let us know what files you need (just your world, everything, etc.) The link we provide will be temporary, so you would still need to download your files within a timely manner.

What about FTP for web hosting or Multicraft?

Multicraft (Legacy Bare Metal Customers)

Your FTP details will be found in the Multicraft panel under Files > FTP File Access.

Web Hosting

If you're looking to use FileZilla or a third-party file manager instead of the File Manager in cPanel, you'll need to use your cPanel username and password as normal (no additions) and web.cubedhost.com for the hostname.

NOTICE TO ALL FTP USERS

Uploading, downloading, and/or deleting files or directories may take time. If you are actively uploading files to your server, you should not attempt to start/restart the server or modify server files. This could result in errors and/or file corruption. Please wait for uploads to complete before starting the server or editing files.
